As part of the National Accident Prevention Week initiative and in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka, the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) successfully conducted an Accident Prevention Awareness Seminar at Ahead Preschool for both children and teachers.
The programme was designed to foster a culture of safety within the preschool environment by promoting awareness of accident prevention from an early age. Through engaging and age-appropriate activities, children learned essential safety practices that can help prevent common accidents at home, in school, and during play.
Teachers also benefited from the seminar by receiving practical guidance on identifying potential hazards, implementing preventive measures, responding effectively to emergencies, and creating a safer and more secure learning environment for every child.
At IMS, we believe that accident prevention begins with education. By working together with schools, educators, parents, and the wider community, we continue to support the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka in its mission to reduce preventable injuries through awareness, training, and community engagement.
Creating safer learning environments today helps build healthier and more secure communities for tomorrow.
Together, let’s build a safer future for every child.
