On October 10, 2023, Green Memorial Hospital celebrated Dr. Samuel Fisk Green’s 201st birthday. Founded by him in 1848 in Manipay, Sri Lanka, the event, attended by Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. V. Pathmathayalan, recognized Dr. Green’s service. Despite challenges, the hospital is regaining its status, thanks to efforts by the Friends of Manipay Hospital, led by Prof. Jayantha Arnold, who collects funds for its development.
