The Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), in collaboration with Ahead Trust Pre School, successfully conducted an insightful Parenting Skill Awareness Program on 31st October 2025, focusing on Developing Parenting Skills for a Child’s Growth.
The session was conducted by Ms. Uthayakala, Retired Assistant Director – Psychosocial Development, Department of Education, who shared her extensive knowledge and experience in the field of child and parental development.
Throughout the session, parents were encouraged to:
Understand their children’s emotional and psychological needs.
Strengthen parent-child communication and trust.
Nurture children with love, empathy, and discipline.
Build positive habits and values for a balanced upbringing.
The event provided valuable guidance to help parents become more aware, confident, and effective in supporting their children’s educational and personal growth.
At IMS, we believe that strong families build strong communities, and initiatives like these help bridge the gap between education, emotional well-being, and family development. 💙
